Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL) intends to apply to East Lothian Council for Planning Permission in Principle under the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (as amended) for the Onshore Transmission Works (OnTW) required to connect the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm to the onshore National Electricity Transmission System. The OnTW include an onshore substation, underground cables and associated infrastructure. The Application Site for the OnTW will be located south of Cockenzie substation and extend through Preston Links to Mean Low Water Springs.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be undertaken for the OnTW under the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 (the EIA Regulations). The assessment will be reported in an Environmental Statement which will be submitted with the planning application.
ICOL has prepared a Scoping Report in support of a request for a Scoping Opinion from East Lothian Council, under Regulation 14(1) of the EIA Regulations. The Scoping Report identifies the key issues which will be considered and the methods of assessment which will be used for the EIA.
