On a mild and sunny Sunday morning in September members of the Repsol Edinburgh Team made the journey, on the Scottish Seabird Centre RIB (rigid inflatable boat), from North Berwick Harbour to the small Island of Craigleith.
Following on from the success of the first Forth Estuary Forum Beach Clean-Up on the island of Inchkeith in March this year, Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL) was delighted to once again team up with the Forum and volunteers from the Forth Seabird Group, Fife Seal Group and Marine Conservation Society to tackle the large accumulations of sea-borne rubbish on the beaches of the island.
We are pleased to announce that the Repsol Foundation has provided funding to the Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick, to support their award-winning conservation project, SOS Puffin, aimed at increasing the puffin populations of the islands of Craigleith and Fidra. Part of the contribution will also go toward the Seabird Centre’s Puffin Fest, an annual festival to celebrate the return of the puffins to the local islands.
Inch Cape Offshore Limited will commence site investigation works in April 2015 on the land required for the Inch Cape Onshore Transmission Works, which received Planning Permission in Principle in September 2014.
