  3. Grid Connection Agreement

    02 January 2012

In August 2011 Inch Cape Offshore Limited (ICOL) applied to National Grid for a connection to the UK grid network. Following National Grid’s assessment of potential connection options along the UK east coast, an offer at Cockenzie East Lothian was accepted by ICOL in January 2012.

ICOL will design, construct and consent both the offshore cable route and onshore substation infrastructure. A number of environmental and engineering studies are underway to identify the most suitable cable route and landfall options within the proposed study corridor.

ICOL recognise that stakeholder and public consultation is an essential part of the design process and a key consideration in the determination of applications for consent. To ensure all interested parties and stakeholders are provided with the opportunity to engage with the planning process, we encourage you to keep in touch via this webpage for updates on our planned events throughout 2012 and 2013.
