Inch Cape Offshore Limited will commence site investigation works in April 2015 on the land required for the Inch Cape Onshore Transmission Works, which received Planning Permission in Principle in September 2014.
The site investigation work, which is expected to take place over several weeks, represents preliminary engineering investigation to determine site conditions and does not represent the commencement of the development. A geophysical survey will be carried out from the shore to the substation site followed by sample geotechnical surveys. Archaeological monitoring will be conducted throughout the work period. Ecological surveys will be conducted prior to commencement to ensure there is minimal disturbance to any wildlife in the area with any sensitive areas being avoided.
